Three lodging options near Cleveland Clinic main campus
On-campus hotels with patient rates
Cleveland Clinic's Where To Stay page lists three hotels on main campus: the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland, the InterContinental Suites Hotel, and the Holiday Inn Cleveland Clinic.
According to that page, all three offer discounted patient rates and free shuttle service to the Clinic's medical buildings. The InterContinental Hotel also connects to campus by an enclosed walkway. Two of the three list a patient rate for stays of 30 nights or more.
An on-campus hotel makes the most sense when you need the shuttle, want to stay on campus, or want staff on site around the clock.
Nonprofit and referral-based lodging
Cleveland Clinic's lodging page also lists three "special accommodations" for longer stays:
- Ronald McDonald House, for families of patients 21 and younger. It sits next to main campus and is served by the Clinic shuttle.
- Transplant House of Cleveland, in University Circle, for organ transplant patients and their families.
- American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, which offers free lodging for adult cancer patients and their families. It requires a referral from a doctor, nurse, or social worker.
If you qualify, ask your care team about these options early. Each has its own eligibility rules and booking process. Check their sites or the Clinic's page for current details.
Furnished apartments and houses
A furnished home gives you a full apartment or house with separate bedrooms, a kitchen, and often laundry. It's a different setup from a hotel. You'll have more space and privacy, but no front desk.
The Clinic shuttle doesn't serve private rentals. According to Cleveland Clinic's transportation page, its main-campus shuttle runs between patient facilities, the three on-campus hotels, Ronald McDonald House, and certain partner sites.

Choose lodging for the length of your stay
A few nights for tests or a consult
For one to three nights, an on-campus hotel is usually simplest, especially if you'll use the shuttle between buildings. A furnished home starts to make sense if two or more people are traveling and want separate rooms.
One to three weeks of treatment
For a longer visit, cooking and laundry start to matter. Long hospital days are tiring, and a kitchen lets you eat what you need, when you need it. If a caregiver is with you, a second bedroom gives each of you space to rest.
An in-unit washer and dryer also means you won't need to find a laundromat between appointments.
A month or longer, or a family coming along
For longer stays, check the nonprofit options first if you qualify. Otherwise, a furnished home with a kitchen, laundry, and room for family often works well.
Ask any place you're considering about extensions, since treatment plans can change. At our homes, if you need to stay longer and the home is available, we'll extend your stay. If it isn't, we'll check our other nearby homes.

Neighborhoods to consider for a Clinic stay
The main campus area
Our 4-bedroom apartment near Cleveland Clinic is described in its listing as steps from main campus. It sleeps eight across four queen bedrooms and two baths, which suits a large family or several caregivers.
The apartment is on the second and third floors, so stairs are required. A long driveway gives guests dedicated parking.
Little Italy and University Circle
Little Italy sits next to University Circle, about a five-minute walk from University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University.
Cleveland Clinic's main campus is roughly 2 miles west along Euclid Avenue: about a 40–50 minute walk (approximate). Most Clinic guests staying here drive, take the HealthLine, or use a rideshare.
Two of our four Little Italy apartments are on the first floor; the other two are about 15 steps up.
Driveway parking is first come, first served. Message us to inquire about it; it is not guaranteed. Street parking is also nearby. See furnished rentals in Little Italy.
Larchmere
The 3-bedroom Larchmere house is a standalone house with a fenced yard, free on-site parking, two full baths, a washer and dryer, and room for six to sleep.
Main campus is about 10–15 minutes away by car (approximate, about 3–4 miles). All bedrooms are upstairs. If you're traveling with a dog, the fenced yard helps.
Ohio City, if you'll drive
Ohio City is on the west side, closer to downtown and MetroHealth. All of our Ohio City homes list free on-site parking, so the neighborhood can work for Clinic patients with a car.
On a weekday morning, plan on roughly 20–30 minutes across town to main campus (approximate, depending on traffic).
Getting to main campus without a car
Cleveland Clinic's transportation page lists two RTA bus stops near main campus: Euclid Avenue at Clinic Drive and Carnegie Avenue at East 100th. The same page says RTA's Euclid Avenue service, the HealthLine, connects main campus and downtown around the clock.
The Clinic's patient support services can also arrange a taxi or rideshare; see its transportation page for current details. Check riderta.com for routes and fares before you travel.
What to ask before you book
Use this list with any hotel or rental you're considering:
- Stairs and elevators. How many steps are there to the door and bedrooms? After surgery, this matters more than anything else on the list.
- Parking. Is it assigned, a driveway, or the street? Is it guaranteed?
- Kitchen. Is it a full kitchen or a kitchenette? Is there a dishwasher?
- Laundry. Is it in the unit, shared, or unavailable?
- The total price. Ask for every fee and tax before you pay. At our homes, the full price shows before you book: the nightly rate, cleaning fee, any pet fee, taxes, and any service fee.
- Cancellation. What happens if your appointment moves? At our homes, the exact terms show before you confirm.
- Extensions. Can you stay longer if treatment runs long?
- Check-in. Is it self check-in or a front desk? Our homes use self check-in with a smart lock. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and checkout is at 11 a.m.
